Ralph Shaw

General Organizer

Born in London, son of an English father and italian mother, relocated to Italy at the age of 27 and resident in Todi since 1982. Obtained fixed wing commercial pilot’s licence, multi-engine and Instrument rating in the USA but devoted most of his time to hot-air ballooning in Umbria with his hot air balloon company Mongolfiera Management now known as AGPIM. Firmly believes that Todi and the Sagrantino area is the perfect location to stage europe’s leading ballooning event has now decided to dedicate his time in making this conviction a reality!!

Because of the desire to improve the event the organisation has selected its very experienced collaborators to cover various responsabilities regarding the sourcing of balloon teams from their relevant countries to participate in the event.

Harry Vos - Belgium

Harry is a Belgian hot air balloon pilot since 1994 with more then a thousand flights.
He participated in several balloon meetings in Belgium, England, France, Italy and the USA.
About 6 times he participated in the Italian International Balloon Grand Prix in Todi and last year also in the Sagrantino area.
Harry’s responsability is to make promotion in Belgium and during meetings in other countries for this beautiful meeting in the very nice Sagrantino area.
It is really the perfect mix of ballooning, wine tastings, relaxing ……vacation !!
In 2006 he was event manager of the 50th Gordon Bennett race in Waasmunster, Belgium.

Jean Klien - Lussemborgo

“Born on 31/12/1956 in Luxembourg

I came to ballooning in 1988 thru the first World Hot Air Airship Championships in Luxembourg

I have a Private Pilote Licence for Ballooning since 1992 and participated in the First World Air Games 1997 InTurkey and in the European Champonships 1998 in Sweden as well  as the First Antigua Balloon Meet in 2000 and the First Qatar Balloon Race in 1996.

I was an observer at several European and World Championships until 2004,  since 2005 I am acting as Co-Pilot and Navigator at World and European Championship 

Since 2009 I am Championship Director for our Luxembourg National Championship . For the rest I do leisure flying and going to meetings here and there. 

Up to now I have about 800 flights in my logbooks and I hope to be able to do a lot more in the next years as I will retire from work at the end 2016″

Tomek Kuchcinski - Poland

Born in 1964 in Warsaw, Poland. Wandering airfields since 1982. Skydiving instructor. 10 years of experience as air crash investigator.

Balloon pilot since 1992. Instructor rating and balloon maintenance mechanic. 350 flying hours. FAI ballooning Juror.

Pierre Clergeau - France

“I pilot a hot air balloon in 2005, and I led the whole family in the adventure. I participated in the Coupe D’Europe to the direction of flight as an observer, measurement team and the weather. Since 2009, I sponsored balloon flight with our “Pulsat”. I attended many meetings in France, and also in Portugal and Italy. I participate in the organization of a meeting bringing together 45 Hot Air Balloons and Cloudhoppers “La Montgolfiade Thouars” every 1st weekend of September.” Jean-Pierre Clergeau.

Zoltan Palhegyi - Hungary

“My name is Zoltan Palhegyi, I’m from Hungary. I directed hot air balloon National Championships in 14 different countries and also the first two Junior Worlds in 2012 and 2014. I was jury on World and European Championships more times.”

Honza Smrčka - Repubblica Ceca

I have been interested in ballooning since 1983 and been a  hot- air balloon pilot since 1985 in addition to being a gas balloon pilot since 1996. I have participated as co-pilot in both the 1992 and 1994 World Championships in addition to the European Championship of 1993.

I have flown in various countries; USA  ( Alburquerque), Marocco, Tunisia, Mongolia, India, Isreal and am an instructor, examiner, test-pilot and owner of a balloon passenger ride company AMO/CAMO in addition to being a Cameron Balloons dealer….Basically, I like ballooning- it is my life-style.
